Thanks to our first group of volunteers:
Johnson County Christian Academy
Students in the 2nd grade class of the Johnson County Christian Academy took some time from the classroom
Friday afternoon to "adopt" downtown Warrensburg. Their mission was to assist Warrensburg Main Street with various tasks
in the downtown community.
Donning buckets, Main Street brochures, and an eagerness to get outside, the volunteers combed the downtown
community, picking up trash, removing weeds that had grown between some of the bricks along the sidewalk, and distributing
brochures promoting an upcoming Main Street Christmas event.
The volunteers also had an opportunity to learn about the different types of businesses that makeup the
downtown community, as they were introduced to several business owners and their employees.
Following their work downtown, the volunteers were treated to oatmeal cookies and fruit punch, served up
by Main Street Executive Director Jill Calvert.
